Rhodites rosae histoid gall on wild rose. This gall is a large outgrowth, initially covered with green hair-like outgrowths, which turn red with time. Inside, there are a series of small chambers where white larvae develop. In the fall, the gall is wooded and the larvae hibernate inside it. Adult forms appear in spring when the rosehip sprouts new shoots.
