Winter and frost outside the window. In the apartment, warm air envelops on all sides. The heat flowing from the hot radiator lured a fly hidden so far in the gap behind the window frame. Not yet fully awake from hibernating sleep, she stepped onto the windowsill and looks around confused. Warmth … hopefully looks ahead … maybe it’s spring already.
I didn’t kill her. We all look forward to tomorrow. Maybe this is the moment that changes life for the better … ours, and maybe this fly’s life. We all need hope for this. You don’t kill hope.

Rhodites rosae histoid gall on wild rose. This gall is a large outgrowth, initially covered with green hair-like outgrowths, which turn red with time. Inside, there are a series of small chambers where white larvae develop. In the fall, the gall is wooded and the larvae hibernate inside it. Adult forms appear in spring when the rosehip sprouts new shoots.
