The picture is a portrait of young Nicolaus Copernicus. In his book „De revolutionibus orbium coelestium” he described our solar system, in which all the planets rotate in a circle the Sun. In times in which he lived was common theory that the Earth is in the center of the universe and all the planets rotate around it.
